The victim has been identified as Tejas, a resident of Kizhavoor and the son of late Sajeev and Soumya, an employee with the Civil Supplies department. The incident occurred during the festival procession when a group of youths jumped in front of a float to dance. Tejas, who was one of the organizers, was reportedly kicked during the commotion. When he questioned this behavior, one member of the group stabbed him with a knife. Police are investigating why the youths were carrying lethal weapons to a public celebration. Tejas had lost his father at a very young age and was being raised by his mother, who recently joined government service after years of struggle to support him and his sister. The tragic loss has left the local community in deep shock and grief.

The city police have arrested four persons in connection with the murder of Tejas (19), an engineering student who was stabbed to death during the Chembakassery temple festival in Mukhathala. The arrested individuals have been identified as Adithyan (18), Binu (26), Prajith (27), and Akhil Raj (28). The fatal attack occurred during the festival procession when Tejas, one of the organizers, questioned the group for forcibly dancing in front of a float. According to the police, the verbal spat escalated, and one of the gang members stabbed Tejas with a knife. Following the incident, the accused went into hiding in Kannanalloor, from where they were nabbed by a police team led by ACP Anuroop, under the instructions of City Police Commissioner Hemalatha. The police are investigating if the suspects had arrived at the festival with a premeditated plan to cause violence.
