The city police have arrested four persons in connection with the murder of Tejas (19), an engineering student who was stabbed to death during the Chembakassery temple festival in Mukhathala. The arrested individuals have been identified as Adithyan (18), Binu (26), Prajith (27), and Akhil Raj (28). The fatal attack occurred during the festival procession when Tejas, one of the organizers, questioned the group for forcibly dancing in front of a float. According to the police, the verbal spat escalated, and one of the gang members stabbed Tejas with a knife. Following the incident, the accused went into hiding in Kannanalloor, from where they were nabbed by a police team led by ACP Anuroop, under the instructions of City Police Commissioner Hemalatha. The police are investigating if the suspects had arrived at the festival with a premeditated plan to cause violence.
