‘Dissolve CPI(M) State Committee’; Pinarayi Vijayan and MV Govindan Face Intense Criticism at Konni Area Committee Meeting.

PATHANAMTHITTA: Severe criticism was leveled against Pinarayi Vijayan and M V Govindan during the CPI(M) Konni Area Committee meeting. Members pointed out that Pinarayi’s controversial remark at a public rally in Konni, telling critics to ‘go and ask at home,’ resulted in a massive backlash across the state. It was argued that this single statement cost the party at least 20 votes per booth nationwide.

Further attacks were directed at M V Govindan, with members alleging that he merely secured the Taliparamba assembly seat for his wife. This move, which disregarded the party’s broader interests, reportedly led to the loss of countless seats across the state. In Konni, sitting legislator K U Janeesh Kumar managed to secure a win by a very thin margin. It was noted that if the UDF candidate had gotten just one more week for campaigning, Janeesh would have lost by over 15,000 votes.

The committee observed that under such a scenario, the LDF would have faced a total washout in Pathanamthitta district. Demanding accountability, members insisted that the CPI(M) state committee should be dissolved. Following the election debacle, voices of dissent against M V Govindan and Pinarayi Vijayan have been intensifying across the state.
