New Delhi: Amid relentless pressure and escalating protests led by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) and Opposition parties over the NEET paper leak controversy, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has tendered his resignation. He submitted his resignation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday afternoon.
Dharmendra Pradhan’s departure had been the central, non-negotiable demand of the student-led demonstrations and Opposition leaders. Initially, the Union Government maintained that the minister would not step down, citing its commitment to structural reforms within the National Testing Agency (NTA) rather than ministerial resignations.
However, as student groups intensified their nationwide stir and stood firm on their refusal to back down without his exit, the Centre ultimately relented. The resignation letter has been forwarded for further formal procedures, marking a major turning point in the ongoing education reform movement.
