AMBOORI: In a heartbreaking incident, a leisure trip turned into a massive tragedy when a three-year-old girl lost her life in an unexpected vehicular accident on Saturday. The deceased toddler has been identified as Rigveda, the daughter of Anu Prasad and Nisa, who hail from Kottampally in Kattakada. The fatal accident occurred near the Kurichikkad bridge in Amboori when a parked Tempo Traveller suddenly moved forward and ran over the young child. The victims were part of a group of three families who had travelled together to the scenic spot for a weekend holiday.
According to preliminary reports, the tragedy unfolded after the driver parked the tourist vehicle near the bridge, and the passengers stepped outside to spend some time. It is suspected that the vehicle’s handbrake was accidentally released, causing the heavy vehicle to slip and roll down the incline on its own. The completely uncontrolled vehicle crashed directly into the toddler who was standing in its path. Although the critically injured child was immediately picked up and rushed to the Neyyar Medicity Hospital in Kattakada for emergency medical attention, doctors declared her brought dead.
