Differently Abled Get Sales Jobs: Kerala Govt. Partners with Vodafone-Idea

An agreement has been signed between the Kerala State Differently Abled Welfare Corporation and Vodafone Idea Limited to provide sales promoter jobs for persons with disabilities. The memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed in the presence of the Minister for Higher Education and Social Justice, Dr. R. Bindu.

According to Dr. Bindu, the project aims to empower individuals with disabilities who are 18 years and older. The program is for people who can use a smartphone and communicate effectively. Under this plan, those who can port 30 mobile numbers or sell 30 SIM cards will earn a minimum monthly salary of ₹7,000. They can earn more by activating more SIM cards.

The company will provide training, SIM cards, and a training kit to selected candidates. The work will be managed through a mobile app with regular updates. While this might be technically challenging for those with complete visual impairment, the minister stated that individuals with some vision can easily perform the job after training.

The minister also said that the corporation’s involvement will ensure a fair selection process and a stable income for many unemployed people with disabilities. The Differently Abled Welfare Corporation will also oversee the project for its entire duration.
