Governor Hails Kerala Government, Proud of State’s Compassion

Thiruvananthapuram: (Oct 28) Kerala Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar said on Tuesday that he was “really proud to be the Governor of such a big and wonderful state,” after being greatly impressed by the state government’s kind action: building homes for homeless students who had participated in the Kerala School Sports Meet.

Arlekar was the main guest at the closing ceremony of the Kerala Games 2025. At the University Stadium, he gave the Gold Cup to Thiruvananthapuram district, which won the Meet.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Governor mentioned that he was moved when General Education Minister V Sivankutty informed him that 50 students from poor families in the school games did not have houses, and that the government would provide them with homes. (With input from PTI)
