Police Register Case in Panur Machete Attack; Charges Against Around 50 CPM Workers

KANNUR: Police have registered a case regarding the machete attack that took place in Panur, Kannur, yesterday (Saturday). Charges, including the destruction of a police vehicle, have been filed against approximately 50 CPM workers.

It is reported that Sarath, Aswanth, Anuvin, Ashiq, Sachin, and Jeevan were among those who led the attack. According to one version of events, the conflict began when Sarath, a CPM worker, arrived in his car during a victory celebration rally organised by the UDF. The UDF workers reportedly stopped the car and verbally abused him, leading to the subsequent outbreak of violence. (IT)
