DOHA: Qatar’s Ministry of Interior (MOI) has arrested five individuals for violating the prevailing directive that prohibits the operation of drones across the country. In a statement released on Monday, the ministry confirmed that the violators have been referred to competent legal authorities for further proceedings.
The MOI reiterated that the ban on launching or operating drones of any size or technology is a mandatory measure aimed at enhancing public safety and safeguarding the community. This regulation applies to all citizens, residents, visitors, as well as government and private institutions until further notice. Emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy, the MOI warned that any attempt to facilitate or operate drones constitutes a clear legal violation, and the ministry will not hesitate to take strict action against offenders to ensure national security.
