PM Modi to Visit Kerala and Tamil Nadu on March 11; Projects Worth ₹16,450 Crore to be Launched.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Kerala and Tamil Nadu on March 11 to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for development projects totaling approximately ₹16,450 crore. The visit will kick off in Ernakulam at 1:30 PM, where the PM will launch projects worth ₹10,800 crore, followed by an evening session in Tiruchirappalli to initiate works valued at ₹5,650 crore across the petroleum, natural gas, highway, and railway sectors.

Major Projects in Kerala:
In Ernakulam, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for a ₹5,500 crore Polypropylene Unit at BPCL’s Kochi Refinery, aimed at boosting domestic polymer production. Infrastructure highlights include the inauguration of the six-laned Thalapady-Chengala section of NH-66 and the Kozhikode Bypass, constructed at a combined cost of over ₹4,700 crore. Additionally, 23 rural roads under the PMGSY and the newly redeveloped Shoranur Junction, Kuttippuram, and Changanassery railway stations will be dedicated to the nation. The PM will also flag off a new Palakkad-Pollachi train and initiate a 50 MW floating solar project in Kollam.

Major Projects in Tamil Nadu:
In Tiruchirappalli, PM Modi will lay the foundation for a ₹3,680 crore City Gas Distribution Network covering The Nilgiris and Erode districts, set to benefit over 8.8 lakh households. He will also dedicate Indian Oil’s ₹1,490 crore Lube Blending Plant at Manali. To strengthen connectivity, the PM will inaugurate 89 rural roads and lay the foundation for the Gangaikonda Cholapuram greenfield bypass. Significant rail updates include the flagging off of two Amrit Bharat Express trains and three other services connecting Tamil Nadu with neighboring states like Kerala, Karnataka, and Telangana.
