Kochi: The Kerala High Court has denied bail to a man accused of raping his stepdaughter, stating that he “mercilessly” and “repeatedly” subjected her to penetrative sexual assault, which eventually led to her pregnancy.
The High Court further observed that a perusal of the case diary reveals that the allegation against the accused, a native of West Bengal, is extremely serious and prima facie indicates a premeditated criminal act on his part.
According to the prosecution, the man sexually assaulted his 14-year-old stepdaughter when her mother had travelled to her home state of West Bengal.
