ED Assault Case Accused Enjoy Onam Swing Outside Police Station; Cops Caught in Reel Controversy.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The accused in the case involving the assault on ED officers celebrated Onam right outside the police station. The accused celebrated Onam in front of the Museum Police Station by playing traditional drums and riding the swing (oonjal). As the incident sparked a major controversy, the police are now moving to cancel the bail of the accused. They are the accused in the case related to attacking ED officers who were returning after conducting a raid at the house of Opposition Leader Pinarayi Vijayan.

Some of the accused involved in attacking the ED officials participated in the Onam celebrations organized on Saturday at the Museum Police Station, which is handling the investigation of the case. The accused arrived at the station wearing shirts of the same color as those worn by the police officers attending the celebration.

Some of the accused, including former corporation councillor I. P. Binu, filmed an Instagram reel riding the swing in front of the police station. These visuals were later shared across social media platforms.

The High Court had granted bail to the 25 accused in the case on the condition that they report and sign before the investigating officer. Saturday was the designated day for the accused to sign. The accused reached the police station around 10:20 AM. At around 10:37 AM, one of the accused, I. P. Binu, got onto the swing outside the station and shot a reel. Subsequently, around 10:45 AM, the accused entered the station and signed. However, SHO Prashanth arrived at the spot only around 11:00 AM.
