KOCHI: Marking the birthday of actor Jayasurya, the makers of his upcoming movie Maayan unveiled an intriguing character poster as a birthday gift. The newly released look conveys a mixture of curiosity, surprise, and subtle fear.
The poster depicts Jayasurya with a smiling face, driving a blood-stained dagger into a book of mysterious rituals. Directed by Jithin K. Jose following his hit film Kalankaval, Maayan is produced by Rajeev Govindan under the Magic Moon banner.
Crafted as a fantasy thriller, the film explores the narrative of societies following inverse worship practices. Beside Jayasurya, the cast features Vijay Babu, Nyla Usha, Niranjana Anoop, Arsha Baiju, Jibin Gopinath, Mubin M. Rafi, and Vaishnavi in key roles. The screenplay is jointly written by Rafi and Jithin K. Jose, with music composed by Mujeeb Majeed and cinematography handled by Faisal Ali. Praveen Kumar serves as the editor.
