THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: ‘Viswasathinte Ezhu Vathilukal’ (Seven Doors of Faith), a travelogue documenting the spiritual pilgrimage of Dr. George M. Kakkanad across historic Christian heritage sites, was officially released here. Metropolitan Dr. Thomas Mar Athanasios presented the first copy to Santosh Mathew IAS, retired Joint Secretary in the Union Ministry of Rural Development.
The book launch took place in the presence of Major Archbishop-Catholicos Cardinal Baselios Cleemis, alongside several prominent dignitaries and the author. Santosh Mathew, who retired in the rank of Chief Secretary from the Bihar cadre, is a parishioner of Pattom in Thiruvananthapuram.
The travelogue details a pilgrimage spanning seven countries, from Turkey to Albania. Renowned globetrotter Santhosh George Kulangara has penned the foreword. Beginning with the echoing prayers of early churches amidst Roman ruins in Turkey, the book explores the cliff-top monasteries of Meteora in Greece as well as ancient churches across Eastern Europe and Albania. Reflecting on his work, the author stated that the journey was not merely geographical, but a deep spiritual pilgrimage offering enduring light for life’s journey ahead.
