Mahe: The shoot for director M. Padmakumar’s upcoming film starring South Indian actress Amala Paul in the lead role has officially begun. Produced by Ramesh Gopinath under the banner of Raj Sagar Films, the project was launched with a traditional puja ceremony at Aysha Manzil in Mahe on Friday, September 11.

The ceremonial lamp was lit by Usha Sreedharan and Snisha Ramesh in the presence of dignitaries including former Puducherry Home Minister E. Valsaraj and industrialist Sudhakaran Pookode. Renowned producer and exhibitor Liberty Basheer performed the switch-on ceremony, while Mahe MLA Adv. T. Shotil Kumar delivered the first clap. Actor Kottayam Nazeer faced the camera for the initial shot.
Conceived as a pan-Indian horror thriller, the film revolves around Assistant Commissioner of Police Anupama Iqbal, who is assigned to investigate a high-profile case centered in and around Kannur.
Alongside Amala Paul, the ensemble cast features Vijay Babu, Irshad, Kottayam Nazeer, Indrans, Binu Pappu, Muktha, Rony David Raj, Uyir Hareesh, Deepan Sivaraman, and Aadya Amit. The screenplay is penned by M.P. Suneesh.
The technical crew includes Ajay David Kachappilly for cinematography, Suraj E.S. for editing, and music composed by Nandagopan and K.K. Nishad to lyrics written by Hari Narayanan and Muthu Vivek Muzhukkunnu. Other key crew members are Sabu Ram (Art Direction), Ranjith Ambady (Makeup), Sameera Saneesh (Costume Design), K.J. Vinayan (Chief Associate Director), Ranganath Ravee (Sound Design), Dinesh Kumar and Anu Vishwanath (Choreography), P.C. Stunts, Michael, and Ashraf Gurukkal (Action), Sujan Kumar (Line Producer), Shamnas M. Ashraf (Executive Producer), and Tobias (Production Controller).
