Saudi Air Force Intercepts Houthi Drone Targeting Mecca.

Mecca: The Saudi Air Force successfully intercepted and destroyed a Houthi drone targeting the holy city of Mecca. Saudi Civil Defense confirmed that the threat was completely neutralized and prayers at the Grand Mosque (Masjid al-Haram) continue without any disruption.

Following the attack attempt, flight operations at the Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah were temporarily suspended, according to a report by the Israeli newspaper Israel Hayom. This marks the first time in history that an air raid alert was issued for Mecca. However, the Saudi Civil Defense announced via its official ‘X’ handle that all immediate threats to Mecca have subsided and advised everyone to strictly adhere to instructions from the Ministry of Defense. In earlier Houthi attacks targeting Saudi Arabia, 13 people were injured. While Houthi forces claimed to have launched a large-scale ballistic missile and drone attack against the King Khalid Air Base, they also alleged that Saudi forces carried out 58 strikes on Houthi strongholds in Yemen.
