India-Oman AYUSH Information Cell Inaugurated at KIMS Health Hospital in Muscat.

MUSCAT: The India-Oman AYUSH Information Cell was formally inaugurated at KIMS Health Hospital in Darsait by H.E. Shri Prashant Pise, Ambassador of India to the Sultanate of Oman, alongside Dr. Amir Mustafa, Regional Chief Operating Officer (COO) of KIMS Health Oman, members of the Indian community, and Omani friends of India.

The India-Oman AYUSH Information Cell is established as a joint initiative between the Embassy of India in Muscat and KIMS Health Medical Center, operating under the aegis of the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India. The bilateral agreement was finalized on the eve of the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s visit to the Sultanate of Oman in December 2025. The cell is designed to act as a dedicated information hub offering authentic resources regarding India’s traditional medical systems and holistic wellness. The inauguration ceremony commenced with a traditional ribbon-cutting followed by the unveiling of the commemorative plaque.

Addressing the gathering, Ambassador Prashant Pise emphasized the strategic significance of the initiative in reinforcing bilateral ties between India and Oman while promoting traditional medical systems. He noted that the AYUSH Information Cell symbolizes the deep-rooted friendship and shared commitment of both nations toward holistic healthcare. Highing that AYUSH disciplines—Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy—represent 5,000 years of Indian wisdom in preventive healthcare and wellness, the Ambassador expressed confidence that the facility would make authentic health information accessible to residents across Oman.

In his welcome address, Dr. Amir Mustafa, Regional COO of KIMS Health Oman, articulated the institution’s firm commitment to the project, stating that KIMS Health is honored to partner with the Indian Embassy to bring genuine AYUSH knowledge to the people of Oman. He acknowledged that this collaborative venture seamlessly aligns with the hospital’s overarching vision of integrative healthcare, which merges modern medical practices with traditional wellness approaches to optimize patient health outcomes.

The high-profile event drew over 50 dignitaries, medical professionals, community leaders, and media representatives, demonstrating a steadily growing public interest in traditional medicine and holistic wellness paradigms.

AYUSH encompasses Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy, representing India’s indigenous and complementary healing systems promoted internationally by the Ministry of AYUSH. Establishing this information cell constitutes a major step toward facilitating access to reliable medical insights and fostering deeper cultural and health awareness regarding India’s traditional medical knowledge in Oman. The newly opened cell will coordinate educational lectures, organize training seminars, and facilitate extensive networking among AYUSH stakeholders.
