“No Apology, No Compromise”: SFI Pastes Protesting Posters Outside Kalady Varsity VC Ciza Thomas’s Residence.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Tensions escalated at Kalady Sanskrit University as members of the Students’ Federation of India (SFI) pasted defiant posters outside the residence of interim Vice-Chancellor Ciza Thomas. Asserting that Kerala remains a democratic state, the posters explicitly declared that no apology would be tendered, prominently displaying the slogan “No Apology, No Compromise” (‘Mappumilla, Koppumilla’). The dramatic protest follows the university administration’s directive offering to revoke the suspension of student activists on the condition that they submit written apologies.

Demanding the immediate and unconditional reinstatement of 16 suspended students who participated in earlier campus protests, the SFI has launched an indefinite hunger strike. In the initial phase, three student leaders—Ashwanth, Archana, and K.V. Abhijith—began the fast unto death at the protest tent erected directly in front of the university’s administrative portal.

Demanding that all disciplinary measures be revoked unconditionally, SFI State Secretary P.S. Sanjeev strongly rejected the administration’s compromise terms. “Apologizing is not in our nature or ideology. The authorities should go suggest this at Mararji Bhavan to Rajeev Chandrasekhar or at Lok Bhavan to Om Prakash Mathur—they are the ones accustomed to writing apology letters,” Sanjeev remarked. He further demanded that the university compensate the 60 days of academic attendance lost by the suspended students during the disciplinary period, pledging that the agitation would continue unabated until all demands are fully met.
