Saudi Air Defenses Intercept Houthi Ballistic Missile as Authorities Issue Nationwide Early Warnings.

RIYADH: Early warning security alerts were issued across multiple regions of Saudi Arabia on Monday morning following potential aerial threats, while the Kingdom’s air defense forces successfully intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile targeting the southern region.

The initial emergency notification was triggered via the Early Warning Platform at 8:58 a.m. for the Khamis Mushait Governorate, quickly followed by similar alerts in Taif, Abha, and Najran.

Around midday, an additional warning was issued for the Jazan Region, succeeded by a second alert for Najran during the afternoon hours. Authorities subsequently issued all-clear notices as the immediate security risks dissipated.

According to an official statement released by the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen, the intercepted ballistic missile had been launched by Houthi militias specifically targeting populated areas in the Kingdom’s southern sector.

In light of the incidents, the Saudi Civil Defense urged residents in the affected zones to strictly adhere to official safety guidelines and keep emergency lines open through 988 for immediate assistance.
