The Congress party has decided to intensify its protest following an incident where UDF campaigner and actor Ramesh Pisharody was blocked by BJP workers during an election campaign at Vadakkanthara in Palakkad. As part of the protest, the party will organize a torchlight procession in the city today morning.
While the BJP explained that they blocked Pisharody due to alleged anti-women remarks made by him, the LDF candidate from Palakkad, NMR Razak, came forward to express solidarity with Pisharody.
Razak stated that such actions by BJP workers do not suit the culture of Palakkad and emphasized that everyone in a democratic country has the right to seek votes. (KN)
