New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has stated that he forgives the youth who made derogatory remarks against him. Mentioning the Jantar Mantar incident for the first time in a new video, the Prime Minister noted that the entire country witnessed what transpired there. He said that the language used by certain youths has no place in a civilized society, adding that the insults were directed not only at him but also at his late mother. However, he emphasized that mistakes can happen at a young age and there is still an opportunity to correct them, asserting that it is our responsibility to guide the children onto the right path while calling on them to join hands in taking the nation forward.
A case had previously been registered against a 25-year-old Noida resident following a complaint that she made abusive remarks against the Prime Minister during a protest against question paper leaks. Addressing the matter, PM Modi stated that anger or revenge is not the appropriate response to such insults, as the youth are capable of learning from their mistakes. He highlighted that now is the time to embrace the youth and show them the correct direction, affirming that dragging them to court, punishing them, or hunting them down is not the solution. Requesting society to accept them as well, the Prime Minister expressed his wish to forgive those who used abusive language, adding, “I live for you and for your future.”
