MUSCAT: A 65-year-old expatriate from Kerala lost his life in a tragic road accident in the Khadra area of Oman. The deceased has been identified as Thaha Aliyar Kunju, a resident of Bismillah Manzil, Kavuvila, Kottiyam, Kollam. The accident occurred at approximately 11:00 PM on Tuesday after he was hit by a motorcycle in Khadra. Thaha sustained severe head injuries and passed away at the scene.
Thaha had been running a small business near Al Safa Supermarket in Khadra for many years and was a well-known figure among the local expatriate community. He is survived by his wife, Zeenath, and two children. His son, Ashiq, is an employee at a supermarket in Khaburah, and his daughter, Fathima, works as a dental doctor in the US. Shibili is his son-in-law.
The Muscat KMCC Care Wing coordinated the post-death formalities. Following embalming at Khoula Hospital, his mortal remains are expected to be flown back to his home in Kerala by Thursday morning.
