KOCHI: Akhil Marar, the NDA candidate for the Thrikkakara constituency, has raised serious allegations against the Kerala Police, claiming they were instrumental in blocking his Facebook page, which has over six lakh followers. Marar stated that his account has been made inaccessible in India due to police intervention, suggesting that his voice is causing fear among those in power.
In a strong reaction, Marar asserted that he has no intention of remaining silent. He issued a stern warning to the officials of the Cyber Department, alleging they are working at the behest of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. “Whosoever it may be in the Cyber Department working for Pinarayi, I will drag them to court,” Marar declared. He characterized the move as a deliberate attempt to suppress him and prevent him from reaching out to the public during the election campaign.
Marar further added that any attempt to silence him would only make him speak louder. He criticized the use of official machinery to block social media profiles as an undemocratic way to handle political dissent. The NDA candidate and his legal team are reportedly preparing to initiate legal proceedings against the block on his social media handle.
