KOCHI: The filming of Chadangu, an upcoming family horror-comedy starring Vineeth Sreenivasan in the lead role, officially commenced on Sunday, August 30. Directed by debutant Abhijith Sarya, the project was launched with a traditional puja ceremony held at the Sree Narayaneswari Temple in Vytila, Kochi.
Key cast and crew members, including Vineeth Sreenivasan, Suresh Krishna, female lead Meenakshi Madhavan, producers Dolwin Kuryakose, Shabeer Malavettath, Delta Mani, and director Abhijith Sarya, lit the ceremonial lamp. The director’s parents performed the switch-on ceremony, while Vineeth Sreenivasan gave the first clap. The film is jointly produced under the banners of Theatre of Dreams, M Star Entertainment, and Dream Merchant.
Set against the backdrop of a household in Malabar, the film blends family drama with horror and humor. The ensemble cast includes Suresh Krishna, Sona Nair, Jagadish, Nihal Nizam, Biju Sopanam, and Sreejith Babu. Co-written by Abhijith Sarya and Vishnu Vinodan, Chadangu features music by Bibin Ashok and cinematography by Hello Rashad, with primary shooting scheduled in and around Wandoor.
