THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Highlighting that the ongoing assembly election is a turning point for Kerala’s political landscape, BJP State President Rajeev Chandrasekhar stated that the state is ready for a cultural shift in politics. He revealed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi called him at 6:45 AM today to extend his best wishes, expressing confidence that the people of Kerala have embraced the vision of a ‘Developed Kerala.’
Rajeev Chandrasekhar dismissed the claims of both the LDF and UDF that they would secure 100 seats. “They are definitely not getting 100 seats in Kerala. I don’t know where they expect to win—maybe in Cuba?” he mocked. He questioned why voters should give the CPM a third chance, asking what they have achieved other than “looting Sabarimala.” He emphasized that anyone with common sense would hesitate to re-elect the current administration.
Predicting a dismal performance for the Congress, Chandrasekhar claimed the party would not even cross the 50-seat mark. He accused the Congress of creating last-minute controversies as a campaign tactic, specifically referring to the incidents in Palakkad, for which complaints have been filed with the Election Commission. He added that the Congress’s ‘guarantees’ are hollow, citing their unfulfilled promises in Telangana. Labeling Pinarayi Vijayan as the most failed Chief Minister in Kerala’s history, he predicted that the state is heading toward a hung assembly where the BJP will emerge as the decisive power broker.
