RANCHI: The bodies of all seven individuals killed in the tragic air ambulance crash in Jharkhand’s Chatra district have been moved to Sadar Hospital for post-mortem examination. The Beechcraft C90 aircraft, operated by Redbird Airways Pvt Ltd, crashed on Monday evening while performing a medical evacuation flight from Ranchi to Delhi.
There were no survivors in the accident, which claimed the lives of both pilots and five other passengers.The aircraft took off from Ranchi at 7.11 pm and lost contact with air traffic control around 7.30 pm, just 20 minutes into the flight.
While Ranchi airport director Vinod Kumar suggested that adverse weather conditions might have played a role, the exact cause remains under investigation. The deceased have been identified as Captain Vivek Vikas Bhagat, Captain Savrajdeep Singh, Sanjay Kumar, Dr. Vikas Kumar Gupta, Sachin Kumar Mishra, Archana Devi, and Dhuru Kumar.
Rescue teams successfully recovered the bodies from the forested crash site. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) are currently analyzing radar data and the crash site to determine the precise cause of the tragedy. (PTI)
