KOCHI: The official trailer of ‘Kattalan’, starring Antony Varghese (Pepe) and directed by Paul George, was released on the occasion of Vishu, creating a massive buzz on social media. Produced by Shareef Muhammed under the banner of Cubes Entertainment, the trailer showcases high-octane action and a gripping narrative centered around a notorious elephant poacher. The film is scheduled for a grand release in May across five languages.
The trailer introduces Antony as a formidable forest outlaw in the Sathyamangalam forests, responsible for the death of nearly two hundred elephants for their tusks. The dialogue “Even elephants cower when they see him” highlights the intensity of Pepe’s character. Beyond poaching, the story suggests a deeper arc of vengeance, making it a high-stakes action thriller. This marks the first time a story specifically focused on an elephant poacher’s life is being brought to the Malayalam silver screen with such scale.
The movie features a stellar cast including Jagadish, Siddique, Kabir Duhan Singh, Thushara Vijayan, and Anson Paul. Technical brilliance is guaranteed with music by Ravi Basrur (of KGF fame) and action choreography by Kemba Ketchadike. The dialogues are penned by Unni R., while photography is handled by Rana Dive. Filmed across diverse locations like Thailand, Idukki, Mumbai, and Rameshwaram, ‘Kattalan’ is poised to be a major pan-Indian release this summer.
