MUSCAT: Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar will pay an official visit to the Sultanate of Oman from July 9 to 10, 2026. The official trip follows his diplomatic tour across Qatar, Bahrain, and Kuwait from July 5 to 9.
During his stay in Oman, Jaishankar will hold high-level bilateral discussions with His Excellency Sayyid Badr Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister of Oman. The two leaders are expected to review the full spectrum of India–Oman bilateral relations and evaluate the implementation of key decisions taken during Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Oman in December 2025. This review will also encompass the roadmap for executing the India–Oman Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), which officially entered into force on June 1, 2026.
Additionally, both ministers will exchange views on pressing regional and international developments of mutual interest.
Following the completion of his Oman visit, Dr. Jaishankar will travel to New York to officially launch India’s campaign on July 13 for election to a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) for the 2028–29 term. Thereafter, he will visit Brussels on July 14–15 to participate in the 3rd India–EU Trade and Technology Council (TTC) Meeting and hold discussions with his counterparts from the European Union and Belgium.
The visit is widely expected to further solidify the India–Oman Strategic Partnership while reinforcing the longstanding friendship and multifaceted economic cooperation between the two nations.
