KUWAIT CITY: The body of an Indian expatriate who went missing under mysterious circumstances four months ago has been recovered from the Al-Salmi desert in Kuwait. Investigations revealed that the victim’s employer and his son secretly buried the body to conceal a fatal workplace accident. The case was solved following a meticulous operation led by the General Department of Criminal Investigation under Kuwait’s Criminal Security Sector.
The victim was reported missing after he accompanied the owner of heavy machinery to the Al-Salmi desert for maintenance work on March 19, 2026, and failed to return. The investigation gained momentum when authorities reviewed traffic surveillance footage tracking the vehicle’s movements. Cameras confirmed the Indian worker entering the desert area with the employer, but showed he was missing from the vehicle on its return journey, raising strong suspicions of foul play.
Subsequently, investigators detained the employer’s son and confronted him with the camera evidence. During interrogation, he confessed that the Indian worker died on the spot after a crane collapsed on him during maintenance work. Fearing legal prosecution and severe consequences, the father-son duo transported the body to a secluded spot in the desert and buried it. Following the confession, forensic teams recovered the body from the site. While the son remains in police custody, authorities have launched a manhunt for the father, who is believed to have fled the country.
