In a shocking and brutal incident at Ezhukumvayal in Idukki, a man stabbed his father and mother to death.
The deceased have been identified as Antony Parathara and his wife Valsamma. Following the murder, the police took their son, Ajeesh, into custody.
The incident took place around 10:00 PM. The exact reason behind Ajeesh attacking his parents remains unclear.
Locals stated that he is an addict. He had previously been admitted to a de-addiction center.
It is reported that after returning from the center, he resumed drug use and frequently caused conflicts at home. On the day of the incident, another major argument broke out, during which Ajeesh stabbed his father and mother using a knife found in the house.
Local residents who rushed to the spot after hearing the commotion alerted the Nedumkandam police. Ajeesh was found near the bodies in an aggressive state.
The police arrived at the scene and subdued him. He has been exhibiting mental instability and has also sustained injuries to his hand.
