NEW YORK: RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat stated that the concept of a ‘Hindu Rashtra’ does not mean excluding Muslims. If any Hindu believes that Muslims should not live in India, then that person is not a real Hindu, nor is that Hindutva. He added that if someone wishes to call themselves a Hindu, they must believe that all paths lead to the same God. He made these remarks while addressing the ‘One World, One Humanity’ event organized in New York.
India’s traditional vision emphasizes the unity of humanity alongside respecting diverse religions. He stated that he works in a society which believes that while religions may differ, humanity remains one. Truth is one, and humanity is a product of that truth. Mohan Bhagwat added that the ultimate goal of religion is the pursuit of truth.
Diversity must be protected and respected. We must protect everyone. In India, people belonging to various religious communities have been living together harmoniously. India is traditionally a sanctuary for everyone, which is why people from all communities coexist here, he added.
