Scuffle Breaks Out Between Ramya Haridas MLA and Congress Workers in Chirayinkeezhu; MLA Hospitalized.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: An alleged attempt to assault Chirayinkeezhu MLA Ramya Haridas has been reported following a dispute related to a local cooperative bank election. District Panchayat member Sajith alleged that the MLA attacked them first. Following the clash, Ramya Haridas MLA sought medical treatment at the Chirayinkeezhu hospital. Visuals of the violent altercation have surfaced online.

The conflict originated from an official meeting of elected representatives and officers at the Chirayinkeezhu Block Panchayat. An individual named Palayam Pradeep, who was reportedly unrelated to the meeting, entered the hall and expressed his views. Elected representatives questioned his presence, and subsequently, a Congress General Secretary posted about the incident on Facebook, triggering further disagreement.

Following the social media post, the MLA along with Palayam Pradeep reached the house of the Congress General Secretary who made the post, leading to a heated argument between the two parties. Upon learning about the situation, more Congress workers arrived at the residence and confronted the MLA.

The argument escalated into a physical scuffle with both sides pushing each other, during which the MLA reportedly sustained injuries. Chirayinkeezhu police arrived at the scene shortly after the incident and recorded the official statement of the MLA at the hospital.
