Oachira: Ahead of the famous ’28am Onam’ Kalakettu festival at the Oachira Parabrahma Temple, key directives have been issued. All Kalakettu committees have been instructed to bring their ceremonial bull structures (Kettukala) to the temple premises before 5 PM on the 23rd. A joint meeting convened by the temple administration, government departments, and representatives of various Kalakettu committees decided to completely ban DJ sound systems and paper guns during the procession. The meeting also resolved to expedite the repair work on the roads along the parade route. The next review meeting will be held on the 14th under the leadership of the Sub-Collector.
Committees have been asked to complete the registration of the Kettukalas and submit their route maps before the 15th. It has also been directed that larger Kettukalas should be paraded only after the other pageants pass.
The meeting was chaired by Temple Administrative Committee President Rajeev Kadakampally. Secretary B.S. Vinod, Karunagappally Tahsildar Bose Francis, Mavelikkara Tahsildar Sreeramakrishnan, Karunagappally ACP Vinod Kumar, Kayamkulam Municipal Chairman Sharath Lal Billari, Oachira Block Panchayat President K. Mohanan, Panchayat Presidents N. Krishnakumar, Ambilikkala, and S. Sreekala, along with temple committee office-bearers R.D. Padmakumar, V. Sagar, and officials from various departments attended the meeting.
