KUWAIT CITY: The Embassy of India in Kuwait, in collaboration with socio-cultural organization ARMS4U, organized a tree plantation drive under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ (Plant 4 Mother) campaign at Rawda Park in Kuwait on October 24, 2026. The environmental initiative commemorated the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and Kuwait.
The event witnessed active participation from Kuwaiti dignitaries, resident Ambassadors, diplomats, members of the Indian diaspora, and local school students. The community-driven initiative aimed to honor mothers and Mother Earth through environmental stewardship, reinforcing the necessity of collective efforts toward sustainable urban spaces and a greener Kuwait.
The ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign, which fuses environmental responsibility with a tribute to mothers, was originally launched by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on World Environment Day, June 5, 2024. Since its launch, the global initiative has gained widespread traction across India and international missions worldwide, including Kuwait.
Addressing the gathering, Indian Ambassador Tripathi emphasized the critical role of community participation in advancing environmental sustainability and fostering healthy public spaces. She noted that such grassroots initiatives not only contribute to local ecology but also nurture shared civic responsibility and deepen community engagement.
Highlighting the historic milestone, the ambassador affirmed that the plantation drive reflects the enduring friendship and strategic cooperation between India and Kuwait, further cementing people-to-people ties through a mutual commitment to climate action.
The Indian Embassy expressed appreciation to ARMS4U for its operational support and encouraged continued community-led green initiatives under the campaign framework.
