Kochi: The Aluva police have arrested Prince Abraham, a native of Kumily in Idukki district, for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman after promising to perform a special ritual (pooja) to resolve her family disputes. According to the complaint, the accused forcibly offered her liquor, sexually assaulted her, recorded the act on camera, and continuously blackmailed her and her family to subject her to further abuse. The incident took place on March 23, 2024. The complaint states that the accused brought the woman from Thrissur under the guise of conducting the ritual, checked into a lodge in Aluva, where he offered her alcohol and assaulted her. He also sent the recorded assault clips to the woman’s relatives and threatened to circulate them on social media platforms.
Devastated by the tragic turn of events, the victim lost both her family support and her employment before eventually lodging a formal complaint with the Aluva police station. The complaint further notes that the accused extorted significant amounts of cash and gold jewelry from her through continuous blackmail.
