KOCHI: Mary Antony, the wife of the legendary Malayalam actor Bharat P.J. Antony, passed away on Wednesday. She was 94. Mary breathed her last at the residence of her daughter, Adv. Elizabeth Antony, following age-related ailments. She had been a constant pillar of support throughout the prolific artistic career of her husband.
Their life journey together began in the world of theatre. A native of Pala, Mary met P.J. Antony when she came to act in his renowned play, Inquilabinte Makkal. The shared passion for art eventually turned into romance, leading to a marriage that took place despite strong opposition from Mary’s family at the time.
