Thrissur: Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala stated that there will be no place in Kerala for any goon who challenges the public. Emphasising that Kerala is a land of peace-loving people and not a haven for criminals, he said that gangsters who challenge the entire system will face strict consequences. The government is committed to reining in all anti-social elements threatening the public. Speaking to reporters in Thrissur, Chennithala informed that stern action will be taken against gangsters and that operations against them have already commenced since yesterday.
He added that crackdown measures will be intensified ahead of the upcoming Onam festive season. Strict surveillance will be maintained on goons based on the lists available at all police stations. Action will be initiated against such individuals regardless of any protection they might enjoy. Warning that Kerala is not a paradise for criminals, he asserted that strict action will be taken against anyone who deliberately creates trouble.
Chennithala pointed out that the former Chief Minister himself as well as Jayarajan had disowned Arjun Ayanki, asserting that no one can protect such elements. Clarifying that Kerala is not a state that tolerates such lawlessness, he stressed that action will be taken not only against goons but also against those who nurture and patronise them. He further assured that all possible legal measures will be taken against criminal quotation gangs operating in Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram.
