Power Restrictions Likely Today as KSEB Cites Deficit During Peak Hours.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) has indicated that partial power restrictions are likely across the state today as well. Load shedding is expected between 7:00 PM and 12:00 AM, with power supply likely to be interrupted for 15 minutes to half an hour in affected areas.

Partial power curbs were imposed in the state yesterday as well. According to KSEB, the current crisis is primarily due to a shortage of power supply at the national level. The state faces a deficit of around 600 to 700 MW during peak evening hours.

The board further explained that the non-availability of adequate power from the power exchange, coupled with reduced rainfall in catchment areas, has intensified the shortage. Consumers have been urged to minimize power usage during peak hours to help manage the grid.
