Thiruvananthapuram: Senior IPS officer and ADGP M.R. Ajith Kumar has been suspended in connection with allegations of attempting to sabotage the investigation into the assault on Youth Congress workers in Alappuzha. The Home Department took action following findings by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) that he illegally intervened to shield the accused, who were personal security staff members of the former Chief Minister.
According to the SIT’s final report, Ajith Kumar exerted undue pressure and issued direct orders to his subordinate officers to alter crucial entries in the official Case Diary to save the accused personnel from legal consequences.
