Kasaragod: In a suspected robbery attempt, unidentified miscreants hurled eggs at a Kasaragod-bound KSRTC Super Deluxe bus operating from Bengaluru late at night in Karnataka. Suspecting an intentional trap to force the vehicle to a halt, the driver avoided stopping the bus and kept driving until reaching a well-lit, populated area, narrowly averting a major danger.
Suresh, a native of Vellikoth in Kanhangad and the driver who successfully navigated the crisis, recounted the ordeal to Asianet News. The incident occurred at Bidadi in Karnataka when attackers targeted the windshield of the moving Super Deluxe bus with eggs. Suresh explained that refraining from using the windshield wipers-which would have smeared the egg residue and blinded his vision completely—proved crucial in maintaining control of the vehicle.
The attack took place approximately 40 kilometers away from Bengaluru. Sensing that stopping the vehicle in such a desolate and unlit location was unsafe, Suresh chose not to pull over and continued driving forward. He noted that a group of five individuals was involved in throwing the eggs at the bus.
Notably, this incident occurred at the exact same location where another KSRTC bus met with an accident just a few days ago. Following the report, the Transport Minister has ordered a comprehensive investigation into the matter.
