DUBAI: In a deeply saddening piece of news from the Gulf, a young Non-Resident Keralite (NRK) businessman passed away in Dubai following a sudden cardiac arrest. The deceased has been identified as Anu Achankunju, aged 43, who originally hails from Pooyappally, located near Kottarakkara in the Kollam district of Kerala. According to family sources, he breathed his last at a local hospital in Dubai, where he was undergoing emergency medical treatment after suffering a severe heart attack.
Anu Achankunju was successfully operating his own independent business firm in Dubai and was highly regarded within the expatriate network. He was deeply recognized for his vibrant leadership and constant involvement in the various socio-cultural activities organized by the Indian diaspora across the UAE. Official arrangements are currently being processed to repatriate his mortal remains back home to Kerala at the earliest. The funeral ceremony is scheduled to take place on Thursday at 1:30 PM at the Pooyappally St. Thomas Mar Thoma Church cemetery.
