THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Monalisa, who gained public attention during the Kumbh Mela, approached the Thampanoor police station on Wednesday, seeking protection to live according to her wishes. The 18-year-old alleged that her father was forcibly trying to take her back to her hometown in Madhya Pradesh against her will.
She expressed her desire to leave with her friend, Mohammed Farman (25), a native of Uttar Pradesh who has been working in short films in Aluva for the past year. After verifying that Monalisa is an adult, the police permitted her to leave with Farman. The couple informed the authorities of their plan to marry on Wednesday evening at the Arumanoor Nainaar Temple in Neyyattinkara. No legal case was registered as the individuals acted within their legal rights as adults. (TNIE)
