PALAKKAD: In a major breakthrough in the Palakkad double child murder case, the Kozhinjampara Police have uncovered crucial digital evidence, including incriminating WhatsApp conversations, that exposed a planned conspiracy between the children’s mother and her male friend. Investigators revealed that the messaging records between the mother, Nivedya, and her accomplice, Martin, proved instrumental in cracking the case.
According to the police probe, Martin had explicitly communicated to Nivedya via WhatsApp that he would only accept her if she “disposed of” her two young children. Following this demand, the duo jointly plotted and executed the double homicide. The two had been in a relationship for over a year, with Nivedya residing in a rented house adjacent to Martin’s residence.
Interrogations further established that while Nivedya drowned the children inside a water tank located in front of the house, Martin kept watch outside to ensure no onlookers approached the scene. Police custody of both accused has been secured, and the collection of crime-scene evidence stands completed.
The bodies of the two children were recovered from the water tank nearly a month ago. Although preliminary suspicions pointed towards Martin early in the investigation, the Kozhinjampara Police refrained from immediate action until conclusive digital and forensic evidence was secured to substantiate the conspiracy charges.
