The attack was reportedly provoked by the victims questioning the gang’s reckless driving. Using iron rods and helmets, the assailants inflicted severe head injuries on Shyam Raj and Binu, who are now undergoing treatment at the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital. The gang also vandalized motorcycles and cars parked near the wedding venue at Kottakkuzhi junction and shattered the windows of the house. The riot-like situation lasted for over an hour, forcing women and children to flee the scene in terror. Police stated that the attack was unprovoked and have registered a case based on the statements of the injured individuals.
