THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: On the eve of the crucial assembly elections, AICC General Secretary KC Venugopal launched a blistering attack on Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, urging Keralites to remember ten specific failures of the current regime before casting their votes. In a detailed Facebook post, Venugopal described this election as the “final curtain call” for the Pinarayi administration and the “herald of a UDF comeback.”
Venugopal alleged that the Chief Minister has been attempting to secure a third term by forging secret deals with the BJP and various communal organizations. Asserting that such tactics will not work in Kerala, he stated that the people are ready to liberate the state from “ten years of tyrannical rule.” He concluded his message with a sharp “Bye-bye Pinarayi,” claiming that the UDF’s victory is inevitable.
Listing ten reasons why a continuation of LDF rule would be disastrous, Venugopal highlighted issues such as rampant back-door appointments, economic collapse, and skyrocketing prices. He warned that taxes on houses and property, electricity charges, medical expenses, and bus fares would continue to climb steeply. Furthermore, he criticized the government over the looting of cooperative sectors, the failure to address wildlife attacks, and the deteriorating condition of government hospitals. He also mocked the government’s stance on women’s safety, alleging that the ruling party provides a protective shield to its own members involved in sexual harassment cases.
