LDF to Retain Power in Kerala; UDF Leaders Creating False Hopes to Raise Funds, Says Minister Riyas.

KOZHIKODE: CPI(M) leader and Kerala PWD Minister P.A. Mohammed Riyas on Sunday asserted that the Left Democratic Front (LDF) will retain power in the state. He accused UDF leaders of attempting to “raise funds” by creating a false impression among the public and supporters that they would form the next government following the Assembly election results, which are scheduled to be declared on May 4.

Addressing reporters in Kozhikode, Riyas stated that the UDF’s claims of a comeback are merely a strategy to collect money by misleading people about the post-poll outcome. He reiterated his confidence in the ruling LDF’s victory, noting that the April 9 Assembly elections were largely fought on the plank of development. Riyas, who is seeking a second consecutive term from the Beypore constituency in Kozhikode district, emphasized that the electorate has recognized the front’s performance.
