A First in Malayalam Cinema: Nimisha Sajayan-Roshan Mathew Starrer ‘Chera’ to Release Under Court Receivership.

KOCHI: In an unprecedented move in the history of Malayalam cinema, a film is set to be released under the direct supervision of a court-appointed receiver. The suspense thriller “Chera,” starring Roshan Mathew and Nimisha Sajayan, has reached this legal stage following a financial dispute between producer M.C. Arun of Line of Colors and co-producer Niroop Gupta of NNG Films.

All further matters concerning the release and financial management of the film will now be handled by the receiver. Judge Rashmi B. Chittoor of the Ernakulam Additional Commercial Court has issued an order appointing Adv. Rashmi Gopalakrishnan as the receiver for “Chera.” In this legal battle, Adv. Rein K. Ravi and Adv. Jeemon P. Abraham represented the petitioner, Niroop Gupta.

Directed by Lijin Jose, the film is a collaborative production between Line of Colors and NNG Films. The cinematography has been handled by Alex J. Pulickal, while Ajay Thundathil serves as the PRO. Despite the ongoing legal complexities and the appointment of the receiver, the film is expected to hit theaters shortly as a landmark case in the industry.
