Jayasurya and Ratheesh Vega Team Up for Pan-Indian Film ‘Operation Tral’; Shooting Begins in Kochi.

The shoot of the upcoming Pan-Indian movie Operation Tral, written and directed by acclaimed music composer Ratheesh Vega, commenced in Kochi on Monday, May 18. Starring versatile actor Jayasurya in the lead, this highly anticipated project holds the distinction of being the first Malayalam film set against the backdrop of the National Investigation Agency (NIA). The big-budget action thriller is being produced by Joby George Thadathil under the banner of Goodwill Entertainments.

The formal switch-on and puja ceremony took place at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Kochi, where Kumari Jain George Thadathil performed the switch-on duties and noted scriptwriter Bobby delivered the first clap. Producer Joby George Thadathil, director Ratheesh Vega, and lead actor Jayasurya, along with other cast and crew members, jointly lit the traditional lamp to mark the auspicious beginning. Director Ratheesh Vega stated that the film is a tribute to the silent battles and resilience of the security forces guarding the nation.

The narrative of the film revolves around the tragic convoy attack in Jammu and Kashmir that shocked the global community, followed by high-stakes covert investigations. The historic encounter between the Indian army and terrorists in the Tral region forms the core theme of the movie. Jayasurya portrays the central character, an intense NIA officer named Harshavardhan. Expressing his excitement, Jayasurya mentioned that Operation Tral is one of the most challenging and thrilling projects of his career, featuring high-octane action sequences on a massive canvas.

The film features a stellar ensemble cast from both South India and Bollywood. Alongside Jayasurya, veteran actors Sai Kumar, Siddique, Anson Paul, Nandu, Akshay Radhakrishnan, Jose Bin Paul, Joel, and Sirajuddin will play pivotal roles. Bollywood actors Tarun Arora, Ritika Singh, Vinay Rai, Amyra Dastur, and Murali Sharma are also part of the project. Director Ratheesh Vega himself handles the music and background score. The technical team includes Najos as cinematographer and Shafeque V.B. as editor.
