ALAPPUZHA: The CPI(M) is gearing up for a major protest against G. Sudhakaran in Punnapra. The CPI(M) called for the agitation following a heated verbal altercation and clash between Ambalappuzha MLA G. Sudhakaran and CPI(M) workers. A protest march will be staged to Sudhakaran’s MLA office tomorrow under the leadership of the Ambalappuzha Area Committee.
The CPI(M) leadership alleged that G. Sudhakaran arrived with goons and attempted to assault public representatives and party leaders. A local CPI(M) leader sustained injuries after being beaten up by a person who accompanied Sudhakaran.
Meanwhile, a severe argument broke out between G. Sudhakaran and CPI(M) members at Neerkunnam School in Alappuzha. G. Sudhakaran had arrived at the school to investigate allegations regarding the illegal removal and smuggling of soil from the campus. PTA President Prashanth Kutty and CPI(M) member Haris engaged in an altercation with Sudhakaran at the spot.
CPI(M) leaders alleged that despite not being a candidate in 2021, Sudhakaran collected funds from contractors. They stated that they know exactly how much money was accepted from Palathra Constructions and questioned how new property was purchased at Paravur in his son’s name. They demanded that the money collected from contractors be returned, claiming they possess all documentary evidence of these transactions.
Warning him not to mistake their patience for weakness, the CPI(M) challenged Sudhakaran to reveal the accounts of the money he collected if he has the courage. The leaders stated that Sudhakaran has made it a habit to insult the CPI(M) indiscriminately and warned that he knows what will happen if they start responding in kind.
Party leaders firmly declared that there will be no further compromises extended toward Sudhakaran.
