Palakkad: A KSRTC bus met with a major accident at Pothundi near Nenmara. A woman died on the spot and several others sustained injuries after the bus plunged into a gorge, with two passengers currently in critical condition.
The accident involved a bus traveling from Nelliampathi to Nenmara. The vehicle veered off the road just above the Pothundi check post at around 9:30 AM.
The bus fell into the gorge and got trapped between trees. Fire Force personnel and police teams have reached the spot and are carrying out rescue operations. The injured have been shifted to the hospital, while the identity of the deceased woman was initially yet to be confirmed.
