Double Meaning Remark Against Trisha: Tamil Nadu Opposition Leader Udhayanidhi Stalin was taken into police custody.

Thanjavur: Tamil Nadu Opposition Leader Udhayanidhi Stalin was taken into police custody over his derogatory remarks against actress Trisha. The police detained Udhayanidhi from his residence in Thanjavur. This dramatic move came just as the Madras High Court was scheduled to consider his anticipatory bail plea at 12 PM today. The Thanjavur police acted upon a complaint filed by the women’s wing of Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK). Udhayanidhi had moved the Madras High Court for anticipatory bail to avoid arrest, and sources indicate that an official arrest may be recorded if bail is denied.

Udhayanidhi Stalin faced severe criticism for his comments regarding Tamil actress Trisha during a speech on the Cauvery water dispute. TVK reacted by stating that Udhayanidhi’s remarks were repulsive. Strong backlash has been mounting against him following the incident. He made the offensive comments while addressing a crowd in Thanjavur.

While Udhayanidhi was delivering a speech criticizing Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay, some members of the crowd shouted “Trisha, Trisha”. Following this, Udhayanidhi used double-meaning expressions insulting both Trisha and Vijay. He later claimed that he was merely making a joke. However, as footage of the incident circulated widely on social media, intense criticism erupted against Udhayanidhi.
